Book Binding Fold with a Twist!

Our anniversary is coming up, so when Jeanie Stark challenged us with her Mystery Stampin’ this week, I decided to go with a giant heart! This card is a book binding fold with a twist! It folds up to reveal the inside message and creates a fun display. If you’d like to play with Jeanie’s Mystery Stampin’ challenge, click HERE.

What I used:
  • Thick Basic White Cardstock for the base, 11″x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″ and 4-1/4″
  • Basic Black Cardstock, 4″x 4″, and 4″x 1″
  • Botanical Textures DSP, 3-7/8″x 3-7/8″, and 3-7/8″x 7/8″, plus a triangle – cut a 3-3/4″square on the diagonal to create two triangles (use one of them)
  • Hearts of Elegance Bundle (Last Chance)
  • Unbounded Love Dies (Low Inventory)
  • Melon Mambo Cardstock, 4″x 3-3/4″ for heart, 2-1/2″x 1-1/2″ for label
  • Basic White Cardstock for label, 3″x 1″
  • Gold Foil flowers cropped from Birthday Celebration Dies
  • Melon Mambo and Versamark Ink Pads
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Melon Mambo hearts stamped from Bee My Valentine Stamp Set
  • Gold Open Weave Trim, about 4″

Here’s what it looks like, closed and ready for the envelope:

My thoughts are to add a Gold Foil “50” on the inside. Yes, 50! I can’t believe it’s been 50 years since this happened:

Time does indeed fly!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Great anniversary card. Happy anniversary too!

  2. Help! I don’t understand the measurements for: plus a triangle cut to 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″x 5-1/4″ – Thank you to clarify, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and your hubby!.

    • Cami, here’s an easier way to do it – cut a square 3-3/4″x 3-3/4″ then cut it on the diagonal to create two triangles. That is more accurate. The 3-5/8″ measurement is actually closer to 3-3/4″. I will change that on the directions. Thanks for asking! And thanks for the good wishes!

  3. Congratulations on 50 years!! Fabulous!!

  4. Awwww Congratulations!! That’s a milestone for sure !!
