Blue Butterfly for GDP#075

This is my first-ever entry for the Global Design Project! The theme this week is Winged Creatures, so I thought I would make a bold blue butterfly for the challenge ~
And here is the banner that inspired my card:
I started with a base card of Basic Black. Then I took a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Pacific Point plus a 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Inside the Lines DSP (free with a purchase of $50 during Sale-A-Bration) and placed them together on my Big Shot.
I placed the Butterfly Thinlit at an angle on top of both pieces of paper and ran it through my Big Shot.
After cropping out the butterfly, I glued the DSP to the Pacific Point, then glued that to the base card.
Then I took the blue butterfly and glued just the head and body to the black base, fitting it right into the cut out area.  I lightly bent up the wings and added a row of Rhinestone Basic Jewels down the center.
On the inside I stamped a sentiment from All Things Thanks in Basic Black and added a Pacific Point butterfly stamped from Papillon Potpourri.

Have you seen the three new selections that came out yesterday for Sale-A-Bration?  We now have 3 more options to choose from! For every $50 you spend between now and March 31st, you can pick a free item.  See the SAB brochure on my sidebar for all the selections. And now add these three goodies ~
I can’t wait to get mine and start playing with them! Something for a future post 🙂 !

  1. Hi Karen, this is a fantastic card. I think that the Pacific Point is a brilliant choice of color as it is super classic against the black and white…and the inside of the card…adorable! I am just goo-goo over that sentiment stamp set! Woot-woot to you!

  2. Love the Pop of Color Thinlit bursting out from the In between the Lines DSP. Wonderful design.

  3. Bold and beautiful. I love it! I hope you play again sometime 🙂
