Bird Banter Birthday Note Card

Stampin Up Bird Banter Birthday Card Idea - Karen Hallam stampinup
This little birdie told me it was your birthday! I wanted to make you a card… So I reached for my Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. They are so handy for a quick creative spurt. These cards are 5″ x 3-1/2″, come cut and scored, with envelopes. And you get 20 of them for a mere $6.00! A card maker’s dream! You can find them at the top of page 195 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog 2017-18, or click HERE to purchase.
Stampin Up Bird Banter Birthday Card Idea - Karen Hallam stampinup
Taking an idea I saw in our quarterly Demonstrator magazine, I used my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to color Mr. Parrot. First I stamped him, his branch, and his balloon in Memento Tuxedo Blank Ink. I masked him off to stamp the balloon so the string would look like it was in his beak rather than on it!
Then after I was sure the ink was dry, I used my Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay markers to color his feathers. See how they blend together at his head to look green? I love these Blends! I used the dark Smoky Slate for his beak and Old Olive for the leaves and balloon.
I matted the Whisper White piece with Basic Black and glued it to a 4-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. I chose the Old Olive “leafy” pattern to look like he’s sitting in the trees. (Come on, work with me here!!! ha!) I glued the whole thing to the note card, then went to the inside…
The sentiment and birthday hat are also part of the set, Bird Banter. I used my Stampin’ Write Markers (water-based) on this inside image, as the Blends ink does soak through your paper. This photopolymer stamp set can be found on page 42 of the 2018 Occasions Catalog. It’s only $17 and there are many occasions for which you could use this set.
