Beautiful Friendship Birthday Card

I recently had the pleasure of flying back to Maryland to visit a group of wonderful friends for a week of laughter, crafting, eating, shopping, talking, more laughter, more crafting, more eating (you get the picture!) These are beautiful friendships that I’ve developed through Stampin’ Up! and I cherish their friendship.

Beautiful Friendship is the name of this stamp set that came in the mail while I was back east. I love it for the sentiments and gorgeous floral images.

How about some bright, sunny, floral fun?! Here I’ve used the hydrangea stamp for a birthday card. Last Friday I showed a Congratulations card using two of the smaller sweet stamps in this set. You can see it HERE.

For today’s card, I started with a Whisper White Thick card base, added a layer of Daffodil Delight Cardstock, then a layer of Garden Lane DSP. I stamped the flowers on Whisper White with Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral ink pads and added some Mint Macaron leaves. I cropped the images using the largest Layering Oval Die, then stamped the sentiment right in the middle.

Since I wanted to use the largest oval die to show the most of my flowers, I was a little puzzled as to how I could add a Daffodil layer behind it, and I really felt it needed that pop of color. So I cut two more large ovals from Daffodil Delight and glued them behind the white one, one peeking out at the top and the other peeking out the bottom.

Use it up!

Recognize that ribbon? Yep, it’s an old piece of Daffodil Delight Seam Binding! Let’s get real….we all have scads of ribbon stockpiled, right? If you are able to use up all of your ribbon in one current catalog year, I take my hat off to you! I can’t! But I do love that I still have some perfectly colored ribbon to pull out and use when I need it.

I still have some more images to play with in this stamp set, so you might just see another post using Beautiful Friendship in the near future. If you would like to purchase this set for yourself, click HERE.

  1. Pretty card. Your “oval” did bring the spotlight to the pretty flowers. I don’t even use up the ribbons I get in a share so I didn’t get any this time. Love your bow. I am so jealous of your retreat!
