I adore making special request cards. You know, the one of a kind, made to order cards that stretch the imagination a bit? I received a photo from a friend of mine, meant to inspire a baby card that she wants to give her friend. She is having a girl, and is decorating her nursery with items such as these ~
I zeroed in on the pink and gold one because it reminded me of our Painted With Love Designer Series Paper. Mine is more coral than bright pink, but I think the intention shines through!
I started with a Whisper White Note Card & Envelope that measure 5″ x 3-1/2″, glued down a skinny layer of Calypso Coral (4-7/8″ x 3-3/8″) and layered a piece of our DSP on top of that – 4-3/4″ x 3-1/4″.
For the layering ovals, I used Powder Pink and Whisper White, stamped an open heart from Heart Happiness in Powder Pink, BABY from Moon Baby in Calypso Coral, and cut love with Gold Foil from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies. The tiny gold foil heart is from the Apron of Love Thinlits. The gold foil arrow is from a non-Stampin’ Up! product. I attached the arrow and the gold Mini Sequin Trim to the back with Dimensionals and adhered it to the card base.
Inside, I took two stamps from Milestone Moments and stamped them in Calypso Coral and added a pink heart Enamel Shape.
She also asked me to make a Wedding Shower card for her friends who own a Pear Orchard, and she wanted the card to have pears on it! I made one using our Tutti-Frutti DSP with the apples and pears on it, but she preferred the one I made with last year’s Fruit Stand DSP. Maybe I’ll post the two on Wednesday, if you are interested in seeing how they came out! Let me know if you are!
