I’ve been playing around with our new Christmas paper from the 2017-18 Annual Catalog ~ making my first-ever Christmas in July collection. One of the things I made is this sweet treat box, using the Be Merry Designer Series Paper and a clear Tiny Treat Box. I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
Here are the steps, in case you want to make one:
Step 1.
Cut a piece of DSP at 9-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ and place a piece of Tear & Tape across one end.
Step 2.
Starting at the taped end, lightly score every 2 inches – 2″, 4″, 6″, and 8″.
Step 3.
Wrap the scored strip around a clear Tiny Treat Box, beginning at the untaped edge, and secure it in the back of the box with the Tear & Tape. It isn’t glued to the box, but is tight enough to stay put.
Step 4.
Cut a 2″ x 2″ square of cardstock and adhere it to the inside bottom of the box. You can use Whisper White cardstock or match the DSP with a colored cardstock. If you don’t want this to be permanently glued, use SNAIL.
Step 5.
Stamp a reindeer from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set using Garden Green ink on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut it out with Paper Snips. Stamp a bow from the Santa’s Sleigh set in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White, color it in using a Blender Pen, and crop it with the matching Thinlits Dies. Glue to the reindeer.
Step 6.
Choose a greeting for your box, stamp, cut, and glue on. I used a stamp from the Oh, What Fun set and Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then attach the reindeer with Dimensionals.
Step 7.
Fill with candy! I found these chocolate covered cherries that are an exact match to our Cherry Cobbler!
Step 8.
Give to a friend. Merry Christmas in July! These would also make cute items for a holiday craft fair.
Check back later to see a card that I’m making to go with this candy box. It will make a super sweet little holiday gift.
And speaking of Christmas, Stampin’ Up! is releasing an early holiday bundle August 1st, so you can get an early start on your holiday cards! It’s a beautiful, versatile set that I know you will love. Here is the flyer ~
Watch for samples to be coming! Ordering begins August 1, 2017.
Until next time, have fun stamping!
