A String of Joy

Happy Thursday! Every Thursday is Create with Stamping Friends day, and this week we have a color challenge. These colors took me into a Christmas mood, so I’ve strung a few Christmas lights and let a cardinal perch on them! I’m calling it “A String of Joy!”

First, the challenge board ~

And now my card ~

The predominant colors here are Real Red and Garden Green, but I managed to squeeze in a little Early Espresso!

Here are the Details ~
  • Garden Green card base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
  • Early Espresso layer, 5″x 3-3/4″
  • Real Red layer, 4-7/8″x 3-5/8″
  • Take A Bow DSP, 4-5/8″x 3-3/8″
  • Garden Green square turned diagonally, 2-3/8″x 2-3/8″
  • Basic White square turned diagonally, 2″x 2″
    • “Joy” from Choose Happy Stamp Set is stamped in Early Espresso.
    • String of lights from Filled With Cheer Stamp Set is stamped in Early Espresso onto Basic White Cardstock and cropped with Filled With Fun Dies.
    • Lights are colored with Real Red and Granny Apple Green Blends and Garden Green Watercolor Pencil, then glazed with Fine Tip Glue for shine.
    • Add lights to the white square with Glue Dots
    • Stamp the cardinal from Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set with Early Espresso, then crop it with Sophisticated Sled Dies. Color it with Read Red Blends markers. Adhere with a Glue Dot.
    • Add a Garden Green Linen Thread bow with another Glue Dot.

    This is a beautiful card. I see a bundle for this. Do we need several different stamps and dies to make this card?

    You did an amazing work of art and so much patience. I love it.

      Yes, Lora, the dies that come with the Filled With Fun bundle also work with this Filled With Cheer Stamp Set. It’s two stamps sets that share one set of dies. All of the items I used on the card are listed above in the Product List. I’m glad you like it! Thanks so much for letting me know!

    Cute card, but be careful sending it to someone with vision issues like me. I can’t look at polka dots. I stay away from anything with that many.
