A Little Christmas Wish ~ and a Winner!

Here she is again, Mrs. Gnome, with a little Christmas wish. How sweet is this card!?!

My layout is one that Linda Heller reminded me about in her weekly videos. She calls it a “Framed Strip Card” and it’s a layout I have done a few times in the past. But I’d forgotten about it, and thank you, Linda, for bringing it back!

I used three different prints from Tis the Season 6″x 6″ DSP and cut them to 1″x 3″ and 1″x 4-1/4″, then wrapped them around the perimeter of the card. A 2″x 3-1/4″ Real Red rectangle fits right into the middle and a Whisper White label from Stitched Nested Labels Die sits on top of that. Check out these great prints in traditional reds and greens.

I stamped the sentiment from Gnome for the Holidays in Shaded Spruce. Then I ran it through my Embossing machine with an oldie but goodie embossing folder called Holly. Do you still have it, too? If not, any textural folder will do!

Mrs. Christmas Gnome looks so prim and proper with her Shaded Spruce and Real Red outfit on. She has a special wish for you that is revealed on the inside. First though I want to call your attention to that tiny poinsettia embellishment. I cropped it with Poinsettia Dies out of the Red Velvet Paper! It’s so soft and lovely. It cuts and embosses beautifully. I was skeptical when I saw it, but once I played with it, I was sold! OK, would you like to see her wish? Turn the page…

She’s wishing you peace and love all year long! I wish that for you too!

Who’s The Winner?

NOW… I know you’re all wondering who won the card kit from last week’s postings. The favorites were very evenly distributed between the Snowflake, Marmaduke, Gnome, and Leaves cards. But the winning favorite was the Snowflake Splendor card. And the winner is…

Lou Davis!

Congratulations, Lou! Please email me with your address – karenshallam@gmail.com – and I will send you the card kit within the next couple of days.

Thanks to everyone who left me a comment with your favorite card of the week. It’s so interesting to see how everyone loves something different. It reminds me to be versatile in my cardmaking and postings ~ something for everyone!
