It feels strange pulling out my acorn stamp set in June, but when I saw this week’s challenge for the Pals Paper Arts, it’s the set I immediately thought of. Here is the challenge banner by Mary Fish that started my thought process:
After I decided on three acorns, I had to find something they would be falling from… This flourish die from Flourish Thinlits kind of works for an oak tree branch, don’t you think? It comes as part of a Bundle, if you so desire, with a 10% savings, which is smart shopping!
Now I need a background… Wow, I just got the DSP Stack called Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and there is this perfect sky page. A quick layering with Very Vanilla onto Island Indigo and the card is almost done!
For the greeting I tried something new for the first time. I stamped the greeting into Versamark Ink, then into Soft Suede ink, stamped it onto my background paper, then heat embossed it using Clear Embossing Powder. Instant shine!
What do you think? Do you like it?
Habit Tip:
When punching out the acorns, snip off the tiny stem before gluing the acorn top down over it. You still get great placement without worrying about lining up that little stem perfectly. The same is true if you pop the acorn tops up on Dimensionals.
Hop on over to palspaperarts.com and see all the entries for this week’s challenge. I’m a little late getting into the game this week, but I did beat the deadline. You can play too if you’d like!
Happy Stamping!

The acorns really stand out in front of the blue color gradient background and the brown foliage! Superb!
Karen, you are so talented with blending the colors of the background. It looks so smooth and soft at the same time. Thank you for joining the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week.
