I had a request for a card using the Cool Treats Bundle for an upcoming class. As I was looking at all of the elements, I thought it might be fun to create triangles on the front as a backdrop to an ice cream sundae. This is what I came up with ~
Now, just as of Tuesday, this bundle is on the retiring list. But before you say, “Oh no!”, it is only the bundle that will be retiring May 31. You will still be able to buy the Cool Treats Stamp Set and the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies separately. But if you like it — and this is one FUN bundle — buy it now before the end of May and save 10% by purchasing the bundle!
I have a confession to make. I did not get the framelits right away, and realized that I would probably not even use the stamps if I didn’t have the framelits. I’m so glad I got them! They are so stinkin’ cute! OK, on to the card…
I started with a base card of Watermelon Wonder cardstock (retiring May 31). Then I picked two prints from the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper (also to be retired). I cut the sprinkles print at 5-1/4″ x 4″ and glued it to the base. Then I cut a 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of the sundae print and cut it diagonally in both directions. I only used two of the 4 pieces and backed them with a skinny layer of Watermelon Wonder. I glued them to the sprinkles print layer.
The sundae dish sits on a cut foil doily. The ice cream scoops are Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, and Pool Party. The Peach scoop has a Chocolate Chip cardstock topping with some Watermelon Wonder sprinkles. I made the strawberry with Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. And the spoon is Silver Foil. Everything was cropped with the Frozen Treats Framelit Dies, even the sprinkles! The sundae sits up higher with the use of Dimensionals.
I stamped the greeting with Chocolate Chip ink directly to the DSP. I covered the back flap of the envelope with a piece of Watermelon Wonder from the In Color DSP Stacks. Those big stacks are going bye-bye too, so if you want some, don’t hesitate! I think they will sell out fast!
I stamped the inside greeting in Chocolate Chip as well. Do you have the Tasty Trucks Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration? The cute little ice cream cone came from that set. I stamped it with Crumb Cake and colored in the ice cream with Watermelon Wonder.
So what do you think? There are several other things you can do to jazz it up even more. You can make the chocolate topping glossy with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, then sprinkle some Sprinkles Embellishments on it while wet. They will set up in the glue like a lacquer coating. You need to give that lots of time to dry, though.
