How can you not smile when you see this card?! It makes me so happy!
I CASEd (copy and share everything) this card from Pinterest. It’s original designer is Teneale Williams. I did change it slightly, but the concept is the same. My friends and I were singing “Happy” by Pharrell while we were making it…well, trying to anyway 🙂
I absolutely love this combination of blues. Soft sky in the sponging and balloons, Pool Party in the sunburst, small balloon detail and base card, and Bermuda Bay in the “happy” and large balloon detail.
The white embossed paper is from years gone by, but there is a similar paper available in the Annual Catalog called Color Me Irresistible with the embossed patterns already on the paper. You can also achieve this look by stamping onto white cardstock and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I love how the embossed stars pop out when you sponge color over them.
The skinny balloon strings are very thin shavings of Basic Black cardstock. Take you trimmer and cut an ever-so-skinny sliver of paper and it curls a bit when you do. Attach the strings to the back of the balloon with a puffie (a.k.a. Stampin’ Dimensional).
Another tip: To adhere the happy thinlit to your card, turn it over and put tiny drops of liquid glue all over the script. Do this on your Silicone Craft Sheet to keep the glue off other things. Let it sit while you assemble the rest of the card. The glue will start to turn transparent – at that point turn it over and attach it to your card. You won’t have any glue oozing into places you don’t want and it still sticks very well.
