Using What I Have

Good Tuesday to you!  I titled this post “Using What I Have” because while I was inspired by Linda Heller’s card from her blog “Where the Rubber Hits the Road,” I used a different stamp set.  She used the beautiful set called Touches of Texture on her card.  I don’t have that set yet, but I loved the layout and the colors and I wanted to try it using something I already have.  Out of the retired cupboard came Flowering Fields.  I know many of you got this set during Sale-a-Bration.  I don’t think I’ll be letting go of it anytime soon.  It is a favorite of mine!

The base color is Dapper Denim.  I stamped tone-on-tone along the left edge with one of the stamps from Timeless Textures (page 120 of the Annual Catalog.)  The Designer Series Paper is Delightful Dijon from the Moroccan Series.

I used my Blender Pen with Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Dapper Denim, Garden Green, and Delightful Dijon to color the flowers and the butterfly.  The little splotches are on purpose (ha!) and are also from Timeless Textures.  A little strip of some Cajun Craze Washi Tape, one of Crumb Cake for the sentiment from Happy Happenings, and Linen thread finishes it off.

This is what I did on the inside ~  the sentiment is from Happy Happenings (love that set!) and the same little butterfly as on the front, with a strip of the same DSP.

Try it using something you already have and send me a photo!  I would love to see what other versions you come up with!

Have a great day!

Karen
