We have a color challenge this week at Create with Stamping Friends! It’s Thanksgiving in the US today, but these colors do not evoke a Thanksgiving vibe. So, instead I’ve gone with “Up, up, and away! Hooray! It’s your birthday!”
Here are the colors:
Here’s my card:
Looks like the wind is blowing pretty hard! The So Swirly Embossing Folder is perfect for showing the breeze!
Here’s my recipe:
- Gray Granite Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Basic White layer, 5-1/4″x 4″
- Gray Granite, embossed with So Swirly EF, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
- Azure Afternoon skinny strip, 3-7/8″x 1/8″
- Basic White for clouds, balloon, and basket
- Stamp the balloon with Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lime Twist.
- Stamp the basket with Lemon Lime Twist.
- Adhere to the card front with Dimensionals.
- Heat emboss the sentiment from Hot Air Balloon with White Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
- Add three Azure Afternoon Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots.
Add some shine:
Before attaching the balloon to the card, re-stamp the Lemon Lime Twist portions of the balloon and the basket with Versamark Ink, then heat emboss them with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Here’s an angle that shows off that shine:
Such a fun color combination! Now click HERE to see what the other designers have made with this combination.
Have an amazing day! And for my friends in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving to you!
