Swaps on Saturday

I had the privilege of attending a Stampin’ Up! retreat last weekend in Phoenix, AZ.  It was called Gathering For Greatness, led by Lisa Pretto, and we spent Friday – Sunday listening to the best of the best demonstrator/presenters share their expertise on running a Stampin’ Up! business.  It was fabulous!  I learned so much – soaked it all up like a sponge.  I met the nicest people from all over the United States, and one amazing lady that came all the way from Germany!

We had a card swap on Friday evening.  We each took a stack of cards with us and traded everyone for theirs.  I am posting mine here today, plus a few more that I brought home and thought I would share with you.  First my “swap”…

I used It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, cut triangles from 4″ squares, and split them on Heavy White Cardstock. I punched out 3 balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and attached them with Dimensionals.  Black Baker’s Twine is secured to the backs with the Dimensionals.  Did you know that Baker’s Twine curls when you run it between your thumb and one blade of the scissors?  Just like curling ribbon!  That was a cool surprise!  Last I stamped the sentiment from Fabulous Four on a 3/4″ wide strip of Whisper White and popped it up with Dimensionals across the gap.  It also served to hold the twine in place.

Some other cards I received…

love the color combination in this Botanical Blooms card made by Donna.

This lemonade card by Tina is absolutely adorable.  Apple of My Eye is the stamp set she used.

Windy’s hummingbird card is professional quality.  I could see this card for sale in a Papyrus Store!  Beautiful!

I don’t have a name on this card, so I can’t give credit, but I love it.  Please let me know if you recognize it as yours so I know who its creator is!  It has an interesting fold ~ and it opens into this beautiful space for a personal note…

I’ll post some more next time.  There were as many different ideas as there were people who swapped.  No two were alike.  I love the fact that we get to share ideas and get inspiration from other talented people ~ one of the many reasons I love Stampin’ Up!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  I don’t want to brag, but our California weather is like spring today.  I’m soaking up the sunshine and warm temps.  I heard that we are in for more rain later in the week, which is good – we need it.  But I’m going to be outdoors as much as possible this weekend 🙂

  1. The dear friend card with the circle at the top is the creation of Patty Bennett. I found her website and CASED, making two of them today.
