We have a color challenge for this final Thursday in February. Today we are using Boho Blue, Pebbled Path, and Cajun Craze. I found two of these colors in my Storybook Moments DSP. The third color works well for a frame!
Here’s the challenge board:
And here’s my card:
Is that not the sweetest bunny you’ve ever seen? She, and the potted flowers, come from the die cut pages in Storybook Moments Specialty DSP. The Boho Blue background is from the same pack. Other than a tiny bit of doctoring on the Deckled Rectangle Dies, this is a very simple card!
Here’s my recipe:
- Pebbled Path Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Cajun Craze Cardstock, 4-5/8″x 3-1/2″
- Basic White Cardstock, cropped with Deckled Rectangle Dies, 4-3/8″x 3-3/8″
- Here’s where the “doctoring” comes in. I wanted an even layer around the center DSP piece, so after cropping the white with the 2nd largest deckled die, I ran it through again to cut off about 1/4″ off the short side. That cropped-off piece became my sentiment banner!
- Storybook Moments DSP, Boho Blue flowered rectangle, 4″x 3″
- Punched out storybook characters ~ the bunny, the pots, and the blue flowers
- I cut a small slit in the top of the pots and slipped the flower stems in through the slit, held them together with a Dimensional on the back, then added more Dimensionals to adhere the whole piece to the card front. Ms. Bunny is glued down flat.
- Sentiment from Heart Shaped (2025 Sale-a-Bration bundle), stamped with Cajun Craze onto the 1/4″ deckled strip
- One Brushed Brass Butterfly
