Stick With What You Like!

When you find a card layout that you really like, use it again… and again! Stick with what you like! Earlier this week I posted this card in response to a card challenge with a sketch.

I loved the tri-panel look of this card and knew I wanted to use it again. So I went back through my Flowers For All Seasons DSP and looked for another print that had at least 3 colors. I found a poinsettia print with Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, and Just Jade. Once I chose that, it was easy to find two other prints that looked good with it. Here is the card that I created.

Just Jade is “just” a few shades lighter than Shaded Spruce, so I chose that for my base and glued the three panels to it. For measurements, please see Tuesday’s post by clicking here.

Poinsettia Dies were the perfect choice for the focal flower. I used Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo to build the flower. I alternated red with pink, slightly curled the petals up with my Bone Folder and glued them together in the center.

Both inside and outside sentiments are from Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce. The beautiful poinsettia is stamped with Poppy Parade.

For one more look at the sketch, here it is. I’m going to save it in my files and refer back to it later.
