Seasonal Chums Still a Favorite

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for! You can now order from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog! View it HERE, order from it HERE. It’s always so exciting when a new catalog comes out. It reminds me of my childhood when we received the Sears Christmas Catalog – and spent hours pouring over all the goodies, making our wish lists. It’s no different now that I’m an adult! I have spent a few hours pouring through this catalog and have made my wish list. Ha! Take some time and enjoy! For starters, watch this stop-action video by Stampin’ Up!

It’s Wednesday ~ time for another Christmas card idea! This time I’ve picked one of my favorite holiday stamp sets, Seasonal Chums, and its matching framelit set, Seasonal Tags Framelits.

I bought this set at the very end of last year and never got a chance to use it, so I was absolutely giddy when I saw it appear in the new 2018 Annual Catalog! It has two holidays covered ~ Halloween and Christmas. I’ll be inking up that Jack-O-Lantern soon! The set is designed to make tags, which are adorable, or the images can stand alone on a card, like I’ve used here.

The Designer Series Paper that I’ve used for the background is from the Holiday Catalog and is called Festive Farmhouse. It’s a fun plaid with Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite, black and white. Here, I layered it onto Cherry Cobbler and used Thick Whisper White for my card base.

I cut two ovals with Layering Ovals Framelits, one in whisper White, the other in Gray Granite. Then I embossed the white one with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and cut the gray one in half before gluing it to the back of the white one.

The snowman needs just a bit of color, so I used my Blends and my Black Stampin’ Write Marker on him. Then I added four tiny Faceted Dots to his buttons, and popped him up with Dimensionals. The three trees in the background are cut from Call Me Clover cardstock and I added Wink of Stella for a touch of sparkle.

I love how the little bunny is peeking out from behind Mr. Snowman! Too cute!

Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget to use those Bonus Coupons you earned last month. You can use them on some holiday goodies as of today. Remember, they are only good through the month of September.

Catch on to the stamping habit! Until next time,

  1. What die did you use for the trees? They look bigger than the tiny die in the Chums set.
    Darling card Karen!

    • Thanks, Nancy! No, that is the tree die from the Chums set. It’s funny how on camera the size gets pretty distorted. I think these would look cute with some glimmer paper behind, peeking through the holes, don’t you?

  2. Cute. I bought mine late last year too and have not used them. I did use the web and bat dies last week to go with my Trick or Tweet samples. I will do some of the pumpkins soon. Love that plaid for the background. This will be great for my hospitalized kids cards since they usually can’t have embellishments due to choking hazards. Thanks for a great idea.

  3. Good Morning Karen, Love all the elements and layers of this card. Very special. I like the gray layer and the buttons, oh and the EF on the white.
    Have a blessed day.
    🙂
