This week for Create With Stamping Friends, we have a sketch challenge. I’m going back to an “old” favorite to make a Perennial Lavender birthday card.
Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:
This DSP feels like it’s been around for a long time, doesn’t it? I guess when new products are introduced as frequently as they have been, a few months feels “old!” But it’s still one of my favorites, and I love the way it fits this sketch!
Details:
- Gorgeous Grape card base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, folded at 4-1/4″
- Perennial Lavender DSP, two different patterns, each 4″x 2″
- Basic White Cardstock for matting, two at 4-1/8″x 2-1/8″
- Highland Heather Cardstock strips, two at 5″x 1/4″
- Fresh Freesia Cardstock for sentiment, 2″ square
Tips:
- Cut the Highland Heather strips longer than needed, a minimum of 5″ long or longer, then trim them to fit after gluing them down.
- Heat embossing the sentiment from Throughout the Year with white embossing powder ties the white elements together in the card and brightens everything up! Adhere this piece with Dimensionals.
- A small bow of Linen Thread and one Brushed Brass Butterfly give the card its final touch of sweetness!
Thanks for stopping by today! Next stop is Create with Stamping Friends to see all the amazing cards created from this sketch.

How fun! I hardly touched my DSP. Even though our small patch of lavender in our yard is looking great, I think of it as more spring-like. I need a couple more birthday cards in a week or so. I think I will pull it out and CASE yours just because I can! Thanks for the measurements. It is a favorite of mine too.
