Do you have your tree up yet? We went to the tree lot the day after Thanksgiving to get in on the decorating right away. My daughter was visiting and I was happy to have her help me pick one out and get it up. Thus the inspiration for this card! O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree! (insert musical note)
We don’t get snow where we live, but I had to give these trees a little sparkle anyway!
Tip for Placement:
I stamped a little soil with Soft Suede ink and stamps from Waterfront. Then I arranged my Shaded Spruce trees from Perfectly Plaid the way I thought looked best. Knowing that I would not be able to get them back the way I wanted them once I picked them up to add glue, I used a little trick that I’ve learned along the way. Glad Press & Seal! I tore off a sheet, pressed the stickier side down onto my arranged trees, then lifted them off the card. With the trees stuck to the Press & Seal, I added glue to the backs, then placed them back where I wanted them, pressed them down, then carefully peeled back the Press & Seal. Ta dah! My design is intact!
The Christmas lights and sentiment are from an older set that is still available in the Annual Catalog, Making Christmas Bright. You’ll find it on page 70. I colored the bulbs with my Blends and added a touch of Shimmery Crystal Effects on each.
The stamps on the inside are also from Making Christmas Bright.
Oh, and in case you missed it, I layered the front panel with Real Red Glimmer Paper for a bit more sparkle! I lined the envelope flap with a piece from Night Before Christmas 6″x 6″ DSP.
Here’s wishing you a bright and happy Christmas season. May your days sparkle! Have a wonderful weekend!
