Love You From My Heart

Of all the Designer Series Paper that I bought this past year, the one pack that I ended up with the most scraps is the From My Heart Specialty DSP! I have bits and pieces of all sizes, so I decided that a patchwork card might be a good way to use up some of those bits! I chose “Love You” from Enjoy Life (also retiring). Here is Love You From My Heart:

Looking Back

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I spent the last two weeks highlighting all of the Designer papers from the 2019-20 Annual Catalog. These papers are still available until June 2, and many of them have been discounted dramatically. If you are new to my blog, you might want to take a peek at the past 12 days to see some new ideas for using these papers. And if there is one or more that you are really fond of, don’t hesitate to order it before it’s gone! Click right HERE to see everything left on the Last Chance Product List. Go ahead, I’ll wait right here until you get back! 🙂

So today I begin one more look back at the Designer Series Papers, this time from the Mini Spring 2020 Catalog. I want to use it all in a thoughtful way before I receive my shipment of new products. Ha! Who am I kidding? I’ll have quite a bit sitting around for some time to come… But you know what I mean!

I’m starting at the beginning of the catalog and making my first stop at From My Heart. This was designed with valentines in mind, but it is beautiful for any sweetheart card any time of the year.

Flying By The Seat of My…

My patchwork was NOT planned out. Seriously! I am typically a  type-A stamper which means I don’t glue anything down until it is perfectly where I want it. Everything must be balanced and just so. On this card I decided to “wing it!” It was fun! I cut a piece of Real Red at 5″x 3-3/4″ to provide a base for my patchwork. Then I found a scrap of this and a scrap of that, glued it right down, alternating directions. And I continued this until I came to the middle. I ended up with this:

And the Finishing Touches…

I wrapped a length of Real Red 3/8″ Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon (part of the suite) and tied a bow. Next I stamped and glued a heart that I punched with the Heart Punch and adhered it with Dimensionals. Tip: Cut a smaller cardstock heart to glue behind this lightweight DSP heart to give it some stability.

At that point, I glued it to my Thick Whisper White card base.

Last, I sprinkled some Faceted Gems from this suite around the card. Pretty, shiny, sparkly, and I used up some more of my stash! Win, win!
