I’ve seen a number of these “Looking Back at 2022” posts in several different places. I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and see if I could pick my favorite 10 cards from this past year. You know what? It wasn’t easy! Some of my picks were cards on which I tried something new, some were just ones that made me smile. It’s fun to look back and remember what might have been going on that inspired these creations! You can click on the photos to see the original post if you’d like.
I’m going to start back in January with this card I called Sailing On the Horizon.
January 26
I loved this card for a couple of reasons. That DSP was fantastic, but I also stamped on vellum for the first time to create the sailboat. I colored it from behind, just a little. The vellum allowed the beautiful DSP to show through and it felt like a dreamy scene.
February 25
I picked this card from February because I tried another new technique and I was so pleased at how it turned out. It’s “Reverse Masking.” You’ll have to read the post to find out what that means. I was a teen in the 60’s, living in Hawaii, and this card makes me smile! Groovy!
March 10
In March, again, a new technique for me – watercolor! This is a super simple card, but I love it. The silhouette over the watercolored panel is so peaceful and pretty.
April 20
I didn’t think I would pick a card on which I had to color with Blends (still not very confident!) but I truly love the way this one turned out. This birthday card went to my sister-in-law who has bird houses all around her Minnesota home and they attract all kinds of feathered friends.
June 24
I couldn’t decide between three from June. This first one was so much fun to make. I adored that camping trailer and mixing it with Mountain Air really made me happy.
June 20
My 2nd fave from June was Clay Pots. It was a tribute to the antiquity we saw on our trip to Greece in May.
June 6
Here’s a tribute to the beautiful wisteria we saw in Greece, particularly on the farm we visited on the island of Naxos.
August 22
In August I made this card using Textured Chic DSP and A Fish & A Wish. It’s gold. It’s shiny. And it’s pretty.
October 24
This is another that I just think is pretty. The Awash in Beauty is a favorite DSP and I like the embossed floral peeking out from the circle. Something different!
That’s nine. I did say 10 ~ but which to pick?!!!
December 21
I love all of the Christmas/holiday cards that I made this year, but out of all – these tags make me smile when I look at them! This was one of my most fun projects to make, so I couldn’t leave it out!
Thanks for strolling down Memory Lane 2022 with me! I wonder which is your favorite? Or maybe it’s one I didn’t pick-?
Happy New Year to you! Here are my heartfelt wishes for a happy and healthy 2023!

I love love love the van card. I too am a child of the 60’s and that brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing
Thanks, Michele! Where did you grow up? Yes, road trips/camping with the VW hippie van! Fun times 🙂
Karen, your cards are lovely. I think we like similar styles for cards and I have CASED many of your designs. Thank you for sharing your creativity so readily. Best wishes for the New Year.
Thanks so much, Pat! It makes me happy to know you’ve used my ideas! Happy New Year to you, too!
All of your cards are always lovely. I think the first card, the boat is the very best. Serene.
Thanks, Michelle! I agree! Very calming.
