Home & Garden for CC2C

Welcome to our April edition of CASEing Coast to Coast! So glad you’re here! Rosanne and I take turns CASEing each other once a month (that is Copy And Selectively Edit) and combine our posts for a little sharing fun. If you’re wondering why the “coast to coast,” she lives in Pennsylvania and I’m in California! So enjoy our cards and feel free to CASE them if you’d like!

For our theme this month, I picked “masculine birthday.” Why? Because my husband’s birthday is on Friday ;-). I chose the Home & Garden bundle for CC2C ~ not because gardening is masculine. It’s just my husband’s favorite way to spend his days. Here’s his birthday card.

Rod loves to garden. Our yard is very lovely, all to his credit. I simply enjoy the results of his labor! So a card with gardening tools fits the bill quite nicely.

Card Details:
  • Early Espresso Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White layer, 5-1/4″x 4″, textured with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
  • In Good Taste DSP “floor”, 5-1/4″x 1″ and 5-1/4″x 1/4″ strip for “baseboard”
  • Gardening Tools from Home & Garden stamped on Basic White, cut with Garden Dies, and colored with Blends
  • “Birthday Wishes” stamped in Real Red onto Basic White and cropped with Potted Succulents Dies

I cut the shovel scoops and pruning shears from Matte Silver Foil and molded them with my fingers to give the dimension. Then I cut the gloves in half and “lay” them on the ladder. The ladder, rake, and shears are “hanging” from foil hooks that are glued to the woodgrain board on the wall. Here’s a closer look at the details.

Cute, right? I geek out over sets like this! I guess I never outgrew the paper doll stage! 🙂  This Home & Garden bundle is about to retire. Neither the stamps or the dies will carry over to the next catalog. In fact, it seems the dies have already sold out, but the stamp set is still available right now. Click HERE to purchase it. Now ~ travel east with me over to Rosanne’s blog, Heartfelt Stamping, to see her card. I can’t wait to see what she made!

Next month we will not be having a CC2C blog post, as I’m going to be traveling and will not have my stamping supplies with me (Oh dear, I can feel the withdrawals already!) but we’ll be back in June with some CASEing for you. Thanks for stopping by. I’d love to hear from you – please leave a comment below. We do enjoy hearing from you!

  1. Karen, I couldn’t wait to comment on Rod’s birthday card…it’s absolutely perfect, right down to the foil hooks on the wall. Every. single. detail is spot on! I’m sure Rod will love it, too. Wishing him a Happy Birthday from PA. Until June….
