HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Did your sky look like this last night? If not, perhaps your TV screen was lit up with world-wide fireworks displays?
My daughter-in-law’s birthday is today! I sent her this card with a birthday message inside.
This fun stamp set is called Light the Sky and is perfect for any celebration. I bought the bundle but only used the stamps on this card. I wanted to try overlapping metallic embossing and am very pleased with the way it turned out.
Steps To Get This Look:
- Begin with a 5-1/2″x 4-1/4″ piece of Night of Navy Cardstock.
- Place it in your stamp positioning tool (Stamparatus) and give the whole piece a wipe-down with some antistatic powder.
- Position your first firework stamp in the center. Using Versamark Ink, get a good stamped image then heat emboss it with Gold Emboss Powder.
- Choose the next stamp, overlapping the first one a bit, and repeat the stamping and embossing, this time with Silver Emboss Powder.
- Continue with the rest of the stamps, overlapping, stamping, and embossing. I also used Copper Emboss Powder and White Emboss Powder.
- Trim the finished piece down to 5″x 3-3/4″. Mat with Gold Foil, 1/8″ larger on all sides. I cropped a rectangle out of the center to use on another project. No sense wasting it underneath!
- Glue the matted piece onto a Thick Basic White base, 11″x 4-1/4″, folded at 5-1/2″.
Next The Sentiment…
- Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy ink onto Basic White Cardstock. Stamp it a second time with Versamark (your stamp positioning tool is your friend, here) and heat emboss it with Clear Emboss Powder.
- Trim it down to about 2″x 1-1/4″.
- Cut a piece of Gold Foil to 2-1/8″x 1-3/8″. Glue it to the card at an angle. Put Dimensionals under the sentiment piece and place it down straight over the Gold Foil.
- Add gold Blooming Pearls to finish.
This stamp set and the coordinating dies will be carrying over into the new Mini Catalog. I’m looking forward to using it for July 4th and any other celebration occasion that warrants a fireworks display! Here’s the set:
You can buy it as a bundle now and save 10% through January 3, after which the stamps and dies will sell separately.
Dreaming and praying for a happy, healthy, peaceful, and meaningful 2024! (That’s not too much to ask, is it? lol!)
All my best,

Great card. She will love it as a birthday card. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Chris! Thanks!
Love the card! Will have to try that embossing technique!
Thanks, Rachel! And Happy New Year to you!
I watched the fireworks on Pike’s Peak from my window. I’m far enough away that I didn’t see a lot of detail. I love the looks of the embossing and am going to try it.
Oh, I bet that was beautiful, Phyllis! Happy New Year to you!
