I have a lot of friends with birthdays coming up ~ I need to restock my birthday card stash! I hadn’t played with my Balloon Punch or Framelits in a while, so I thought it was time to get them out and dust them off!
For this card, I used Mint Macaron and Dapper Denim. I just love the way these two colors look together. I started by cutting a panel of Dapper Denim at 5-1/4″ x 2-1/8″. Then I glued a 5-1/8″ x 2″ panel of Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper from the By The Shore DSP to the Denim. I glued that to the Mint Macaron base card.
I punched three balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, one from Dapper Denim, one from Silver Glimmer Paper, and one from Silver Foil Paper. Then I cut two balloons and three balloon strings using the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits, and I glued them on top of two of the punched balloons.
The cardstock “strings” were attached to the backs of the balloons with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then placed on the card. I tied a short length of silver Metallic Thread (a free Sale-A-Bration item) in a knot and glued it on with a Glue Dot.
The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Number of Years stamp set, stamped onto Very Vanilla, and cropped out with an Oval Stitched Framelit. I glued that to a scalloped piece of Dapper Denim.
Inside, I combined stamps from Beautiful You and Number of Years in mint and denim.
This card makes me smile! I hope it makes the birthday girl smile too!
