Hanging Ornaments

Merry Monday! How about some hanging ornaments from the Christmas Gleaming Bundle?

This simple design came together quickly, yet has an elegant touch with copper foil accents. I love the copper on the Mossy Meadow! Isn’t it so rich looking? The DSP is Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and can be found along with the rest of the suite on pages 31-32 of the 2019 Holiday Catalog.

The bundle comes with a stamp set and two ornament punches.

For the ornaments, I stamped one in Cajun Craze, another in Mossy Meadow, and the third with Versamark Ink. I used Copper Embossing Powder on the third one and heat set it. Then I punched them out with their coordinating punches. Let me just say, I love punches! They are quick and easy – perfect for making multiples!

I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Gleaming with Mossy Meadow ink, then taped three strands of Baker’s Twine to the back of the little banner. After punching tiny holes into the tops of the ornaments, I strung the twine through each one and taped it on the backs.

The two larger ornaments are glued to the So Saffron panel. The embossed ornament sits up on Dimensionals, as does the Merry Christmas banner.

I heat embossed the sentiment from Merry Christmas To All (page 68 of the Annual Catalog) with Copper Embossing Powder on the inside panel.

Tip:

When you heat emboss, especially on thinner paper, it will tend to warp the paper. I recommend using thicker paper when heat embossing and/or using a strong adhesive to glue it to the card afterward. If you still have Fast Fuse, that works well. There are other similar, strong tape-type adhesives on the market that would be best.
