I love visiting the ocean, beach combing for shells and searching the tide pools for sea stars, etc. We have beautiful, rustic beaches in Northern California that are perfect for that activity. These are not the surfing beaches of Santa Cruz and south. These are rough and rocky with crashing waves and barking sea lions sunbathing on the rock croppings. I love the smells and sounds. Friends of the Ocean DSP takes me there. This bright card may not be quite what you find in nature, although the sand dollar is close!
I took the colors from the Friends of the Ocean DSP and ran with it!
Here’s what I used:
- Stamps & Dies ~ Beach Day, Seaside Wishes Bundle
- Embossing Folders ~ Seaside Wishes, So Swirly, Dashing Designs
- Inks ~ Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink
- Cardstock ~ Melon Mambo, Summer Splash, Basic White
- DSP ~ Friends of the Ocean
- Embellishments ~ Sunny Day Iridescent Dots
When I lower the light, you can see more of the textures:
Tips:
- Stamp the sand dollar with Pretty in Pink, stamp off once, then onto your square of white. Line it up with the die and crop, then wiggle it into the embossing folder to give it that realistic texture.
- Crop the large sea star out of Melon Mambo Cardstock, then emboss it with Dashing Designs for the bumpy look.
Are you a beach person? Have you ever lived near the beach? Pacific or Atlantic? Or other?
Thanks for visiting my blog today! Have a beautiful day!

I can relate to your card as I grew up on the Southern Oregon coast and loved visiting the tide pools, digging for clams, eating freshly caught crabs, chasing waves, etc. Our coastline looks much like your photo.
Cute card.
