Cozy Christmas for PPA 280

I know this is a bit of a stretch for my Pals Paper Arts entry.  The sketch that inspired me is this:

I started off with the house image in an oval, but decided that I liked it stamped directly on the light blue “sky” with snowfall.  I ended up stamping it with Night of Navy onto that light blue piece of DSP from Home For Christmas.  Then I stamped it again onto a long piece of white with Night of Navy ink, added the cozy Christmas greeting on the same piece of white, then cut out just the snow and house together in one long piece. I fit it right over the top of the first stamped image, leaving the trees, chimney and smoke from the original stamp.  The snow on the trees was colored with a white gel pen.

I cut out a strip of Christmas light bulbs from Season of Cheer DSP and glued it over the snow piece.

I added a few gold Glimmer Paper stars punched out with the Confetti Stars Punch. Now I realize that if it’s snowing, you probably won’t see any stars – but oh, well – artistic license!  Then I glued the whole piece onto a base of Navy cardstock.

Inside I stamped a greeting from Versatile Christmas, then glued my scrap of light bulbs that I had left over to the top of the page.

If you squint and use your imagination, you can see the shapes of the sketch, right?!!  I find it interesting to see where a card design ends up after working on it for awhile!
