Bokeh Leaves

I had this idea to try my Bokeh Dots stamp in Fall colors to create leaves. I think they turned out pretty neat….

Starting with regular Whisper White cardstock I used the Bokeh Dots stamp several times, using different autumnal colors. The colors I chose for this card were Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie. Using the stamped images, I ran the paper through the Big Shot with leaf dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I love how they turned out!

I found the Crumb Cake bokeh dot Designer Series Paper in the Tranquil Textures pack. The perfect backdrop, I thought!

Sticking with the Colorful Seasons bundle, I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla cardstock and cropped it out with a Stitched Shape Circle die. Then I layered it over a scalloped circle of Soft Suede from Layering Circles Framelits.

To stabilize the DSP before putting the Linen thread around it, I glued it to a matching 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Soft Suede cardstock, then adhered the whole panel to the Suede card base with Dimensionals.

While I was cutting the large leaves from the Bokeh stamped paper, I added the small leaf die in there too. I only ended up using the Mango Melody one on the inside, but I had six colors to choose from. I guess I liked the variation in color on the Mango one the best. The sentiment on the inside is from Beautiful You.

I added the same papers to the flap of the Vanilla envelope (it looks white in the photo, doesn’t it?)

I posted a very different card using the second of the Bokeh Dots stamps a couple of weeks ago. If you’d like to see that stamp and card, click HERE.

  1. Beautiful Karen, inside and out!

  2. Very pretty card, Karen. Such a good idea to use the Bokeh stamp on the leaves. It certainly does give them a pretty detailed look. The background also pairs so well.

  3. Oh so pretty, Karen. Love the colors and yes, Life is Beautiful.
    Have a blessed day.
    🙂

  4. Love the bokeh stamp. The effect on the leaves is lovely.

  5. How fun. I love leaves in the fall with all colors. Of course I love the pumpkin pie leaf with all the variations of color but the other two are just as fun with looking like raindrops of color or tree sap maybe. The leaf inside is just the icing on the cake. The background DSP reminds me of raindrops to complete it. The stitched frameless are my favorites. The sentiment on the front using it is perfect. Maybe I will play with some fall inks and leaf stamps today. Well done.
