Autumn Birthday Wishes for PPA 317

I have a lot of friends with fall birthdays.  When the PPA challenge came out yesterday with these three colors, I thought they were perfectly suited for a fall card!  Here is the Pals Paper Arts banner that got me started:

I love fall colors!  This tree image from Sheltering Tree is a great stamp to do with multiple colors.  I started out by stamping the whole leaf stamp with Crushed Curry.  Then with sponge daubers, I pounced on some Tangerine Tango and then Rich Razzleberry.
Here’s a tip:  Start with your lightest color first, then go to the medium tone, and last the dark tone. The lighter colors won’t stain your dark pads, but watch out for the opposite! The dark colors going into the light pad will ruin it šŸ™
I used Tip Top Taupe for the trunk and Pear Pizzazz for the grass.  The rake needed a shade or two darker (in my opinion) so I stamped it with Chocolate Chip.
I embossed a 2″ wide strip of Crushed Curry with the Petal Burst Textured Impression Embossing Folder, then layered it and the Very Vanilla panel with a skinny layer of Rich Razzleberry.
The sentiment comes from Endless Birthday Wishes.  It’s a photopolymer set, so I was able to curve the words slightly as I mounted them onto my acrylic blocks.
Inside I mimicked the outside with the leaves, grass, and rake.  The sentiment is also a collection of words from Endless Birthday Wishes.  If you are not familiar with this set, let me tell you how awesome it is…  There are 16 of the larger cursive words, 9 small phrases in a typewriter font, a whimsical birthday cake, and some confetti dots.  You can mix and match to your heart’s content and come up with the perfect sentiment for the person it is going to.
A few orange sequins add some shine to the tree!  I hope you enjoyed seeing my card. Now pop on over to palspaperarts.com and see the other entries that have been submitted this week.  It’s an impressive bunch of stampers!
Have a great weekend!  I’m going to be taking advantage of this gorgeous late summer/early autumn weather and go paddleboarding on our nearby lake.  ‘Til next time ~
Happy stamping!
