A Look Back

It’s December 2021, Christmas Eve. I’ve been blogging since 2015. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the past 7 years of projects that I’ve created for the holidays. Indulge me for a moment to reminisce some of my past Christmases! When you click on the picture, you’ll go back in time to see my original post.

2015 ~

the year of the 3×3 mini card! I think I was busy baking for neighbors that year and made this little cutie to go with their plates of cookies. It looks very much like something I would create today! I guess my style hasn’t changed all that much in 7 years! 🙂

2016 ~

the year of the tag! This was the year I flew to Atlanta, GA for Brian King’s World Card Making Day event and Stampin’ Up!’s annual convention! So many memories here! It was the first time I met so many of the Stampin’ Up! friends that I still hold dear. What a fun time we had! This was my swap – a box full of tags – for Brian’s event. The rule was “a Holiday 3-D Project.” It’s still one of my all-time favorite projects!

2017 ~

the year of the boxed set! More 3 x 3’s – what can I say?! I love these little cards! As I remember, this was a class I offered. We decorated the Mini Pizza Boxes and used the fun Quilted Christmas bundle to make a set of cards.

2018 ~

the year of holiday craft fairs! I made and sold several of these hot cocoa pouches at a local craft fair. They were a big hit! I adored that So Santa stamp set. The fun graphics on it took me a long way that year!

2019 ~

the year of CASEing Coast to Coast! At least, that’s the year Rosanne and I started this monthly feature. Rosanne is one of those dear friends I met at a Stampin’ Up! convention. She lives in Pennsylvania. What were the chances of me, a California girl, meeting someone from Pennsylvania with similar passions for paper crafting? Pretty good when you attend a nation-wide SU convention (sorry but virtual events don’t even come close!) We intend to keep these CC2C posts going in 2022.

2020 ~

the year of scene-building! I love to create little scenes with stamps. This card was inspired by my daughter’s new home in Hood River, Oregon. She lives in an apartment building that has views of both Mt. Hood in one direction and Mt. Adams in the other direction. Needless to say, it’s a beautiful location! This was my Christmas card to her that year, complete with her little black car in the parking lot!

And here we are, December 2021 ~

the year of individualized Christmas cards. I spent time making cards to fit my friends’ personalities and loves. This one was for a friend who has cats (obviously) and she loved the expression on that tan cat that looks much like her own when disgruntled about something! I found this charming DSP to be so fun to create cards with.

So there you have it! My blogging history in one short post! Lol! Don’t you wonder what 2022 will be the year of…? Hopefully it will be the year that we can openly attend events and look back and say, “Whew! Glad that era of virtual gatherings is over!” I’m thankful that we have the technology to see each other, even if only online, but getting together in person is way more fun!

Merry Christmas to all of you! Thank you for following my blog. Many blessings and good tidings to you all! Enjoy the holiday!

  1. What a fantastic post, Karen! And so much fun to revisit your creativity. It must have been hard to choose which project to highlight, though. I totally agree that you should make this an annual tradition. Looking forward to continuing our CC2C traditional as well. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and the happiest New Year.
