A Card Sketch (for CASEing Coast to Coast)

Welcome to our June posting of CASEing Coast to Coast! Rosanne in Pennsylvania is taking the lead this month. She has selected a card sketch for us to use as inspiration for our cards. I hope this inspires you to try one as well! Here’s the sketch ~

And here’s Rosanne’s sweet card ~

Such a cute, happy card! You can read all the details on her blog HERE.

For my card, I decided to go red, white, and blue for our upcoming Independence Day holiday in the USA! Light the Sky seemed perfect for a 4th of July card idea with its fireworks display!

light the sky, everyday details dies, patriotic themed card idea, cc2c, stampin up, karen hallam

My Details:
  • Blueberry Bushel Cardstock base, 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″, with a top fold at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White layer, 5-1/4″x 4″
  • Red, White, and Blue stripe, 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″
    • To make this background, I cut several strips of cardstock from Real Red and Basic White in different widths. I glued them at an angle to a 5-1/8″x 3-7/8″ piece of Blueberry Bushel Cardstock. Once I “stripped it up” I trimmed off any overhanging pieces from the edges.
  • Circles cut from Everyday Details Dies (Online Exclusive), 2-3/8″ in Blueberry Bushel, 1-7/8″ in Real Red, and 1-3/8″ in Basic White
    • To these I stamped Light the Sky (Online Exclusive) fireworks with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Metallics Embossing Powders in silver and gold.
  • Sentiment from Light the Sky stamped with Blueberry Bushel onto Basic White, 2-3/4″x 1/2″
  • White Baker’s Twine and Iridescent Faceted Gems provide embellishment.
  • Envelope: 6″x 3/8″ strip of Real Red and 6″x 2″ Blueberry Bushel (Regals) DSP
