A Beautiful Blessing

This is quite possibly my favorite paper of all the new DSP papers we have in the new catalog.  It comes in the pack called Birthday Bouquet.  And I got the idea of putting vellum over it from Connie Babbert.  It softens it and makes it even more beautiful!
This could be a valentine…I was thinking for a mother or from mother to daughter.  It would also make a pretty Mother’s Day card.  Here is what I did:
The base card is Mint Macaron, 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.  The DSP is 1/4″ smaller – 5 1/4″ x 4″.  I cut a piece of vellum and glued it over the top with Vellum tape in the corners.
My DSP had been a 6″ wide piece, so when I cut it to 5 1/2″ I was left with a 1/2″ strip exactly the right length.  So I flipped it over and found the Mint print!  Love it when that happens!  I backed it with Blushing Bride cut to 1″ wide.
I stamped the greeting from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Soft Suede on white, cropped it with the label framelit from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, and sponged Blushing Bride around the edges.  A 3-strand Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine makes a fun bow, and the row of 3 pearls dresses it all up.

On the inside I stamped a flower from Bloomin’ Love after coloring it with markers that matched the DSP on the front.  I’m not sure using markers on photopolymer gives you the best result.  Next time I might stamp it with a neutral color and color it in with my Blender Pen and inks.  The Markers I used were Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, and Mossy Meadow.

“Love You” is also from Bloomin’ Love and I used Soft Suede ink.  I punched the tiny hearts out with Blushing Bride using the Hearts Border Punch.  I hope you were able to snatch that one up from last week’s Weekly Deals!  Anytime they offer a punch at 25%, I grab it.  It’s a great way to build up your collection, and punches are something that you will use forever.
